The year is well underway now, and those New Year’s resolutions may already seem like a distant memory. Perhaps that means they’ve already been broken, or maybe they have become such a part of your life they are now almost automatic. More likely, the truth is somewhere between those two extremes.
So, getting organized is only half the battle — the next stage is to stay organized. Let’s take a look at a few tips for how to do this.
Give yourself a progress report
How are you doing so far on those organization goals? A little better than you expected, a little worse? Be honest and identify areas where you can make improvements. Be accountable for your successes as well as your shortcomings, and start fine-tuning so that you can push your organization efforts to the next level.
Don’t forget to schedule the next progress report in a month or so, so you can keep on keeping track of your progress.
Don’t be too critical of yourself
Being accountable is one thing, but being needlessly critical of yourself is quite another. Don’t get down or despondent just because you are not quite where you want to be.
Instead, focus on the positives. Give yourself congratulations where congratulations are due, and then try to bring those negatives into line.
Make sure you have your digital toolkit on your side
There is no need to sweat and toil, figuratively speaking, as you keep yourself organized. In the modern age, you have a broad range of digital platforms and tools that you can use to take the sting out of organization.
Identify where you are struggling and find the tools you need to overcome that — perhaps crafting digital to-do lists or using digital photo organization software.
